Selecting the right theme for The Boneyard was one of the most important design decisions in this project. The theme determines not only how the site looks, but also how users interact with it and navigate its content. I chose a theme that is clean, and visually flexible. Since the focus of the site is archaeology and fossils, I wanted a design that feels modern but still slightly grounded. A cluttered or overly complex theme would take away from the content, so simplicity was a key factor.
Responsiveness was another major consideration. The site needs to function well on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. A responsive theme ensures that all users have a consistent experience regardless of how they access the site. Customization options also played a role. The ability to adjust colors, layouts, and images allowed me to tailor the site to match the tone of The Boneyard. I implemented changes such as a custom background image and modified color schemes to create a cohesive look. In the future, I would like to expand these customizations further by looking into fonts and adding more interactive design elements. Overall, the selected theme provides a strong foundation for both current content and future growth.
